Couchsurfing explained with cartoons,
follow the class !
follow the class !
ENJOYED IT? LIKE IT AND ROCK THE CLASS! YEAH !
You want more?
First of all, for all the members of the couchsurfing project, this cartoon wants to reflect the whole idea of our community and don't have the pretention to describe it perfectly. This cartoon is also dedicated to you who doesn't know couchsurfing (get your ass over here!). Please do not take offense for any single aspect of this comic strip. Just take all the fun ;p
Hope you enjoyed it!
- If you wanna know more about Couchsurfing, you can read on their own page in the website or simply suscribe to the community
- An interesting article about the safety of couchsurfing. Since joining 7 years ago, i've hosted around 200 people myself and surfed probably same numbers of couch or even more, and i think it's very safe (as long as you respect certain rules as not surfing the couch of a single man alone without reference/pictures while being a woman alone (for example). Simple but it CAN avoid problems with some people who don't get it's not a dating site:). Otherwise, i think the website is pretty safe.
- The wikipage of couchsurfing
- Kuala Lumpur did a CS invasion just before i posted this cartoon. One more invasion!
- One forum on the website which talk about the FUNNY NEGATIVE REFERENCES *cause yes, sometimes people has negative references for a lot of different reasons*, it's pretty funny to read but epic sometimes! If you connect, you can read more about it. Sometimes it's stupid, sometimes it's cultural issues, but sometimes it's fun! But again, most of the time everything goes fine between people but you know...shit happens ! Couchsurfing can not be THAT perfect c'mon ;p
- Not so long ago, couchsurfing which was a non-profit organisation turns into a for-profit organisation (which creates a HUGE debate in the community). You can read more about it on this page (or simply google it)
- Anyway, COUCHSURFING IS AWESOME ! highly recommended for happy and open-minded travellers :) To become a member of this crazy community, over here

Now do one from the point of view of the host ;-)

But yeah, a view from a host could be also great - I'm from Ukraine and I hosted some ppl who seemed not to wanna go out much but stay in bed relaxing (even when it was a great weather). Comon, -38??? We have -15 maximum :D:D:D
Great cartoon. Loved the artistic style. =)

Don't be scared, just be careful.
Excellent Work...Well done, I loved it
this is a real cooooolllll work . Nice cartoons Go ahead
Thanks for the information and it's really amusing to see it in cartoons. I just joined CS and my family had participated in the hosting part. Good point regarding the "way of life" part. It's a first hand experience to meet people of different cultures and practices. Way to go!
Hope to learn from you more, because I'm just not good at History.
Thanks a lot!
Thank you for the information and putting it easily in the form of cartoons. I am new to CS. I am enjoying being a member of the community. Emphasizing that CS is becoming a "way of life", I think it is! My family had already participated even if I am the lone member in the household. It is a good way to learn first hand experiences about the culture and practices of other foreign people.
Way to go! Hope to learn more from you about History and it's more fun with the cartoons! Thanks a lot!
Learning is made easy.. It is nice to learn with your cartoons..
Beautiful points highlighted with equally beautiful cartoons. The best part of your comic strip
is in its length. You don't end up with mere 3-4 cartoons on any topic but 20-25 cartoons on the same subject with each individual cartoon being awesome! I always fear that the page will end up soon when scrolling down the page but you never disappoint. Quality with quantity. What more can you ask for?
Very innovative idea to educate on CS community in a very simple cartoon style. Keep it up. I wish I can do something like this or help you by sending few.
I love all the cartoons and most importantly the messages it carry.
Cheers
Valmiki
It would have been really funny to draw a German guy colored red after trying Mexican hot spicy sauce on his tacos... you should have seen his face hehehe (it wasn't on purpose)
hihihi damn kewl!!!!! glad found the link from CS hahahahhah
I love your site - but I can't read it on an iPhone at all - every time I try to scroll it opens a different page.
This is absolutely wonderful! The cartoons were funny and a hoot to read everything about CS.
Informative too.
Can't believe there are people who still promote this website after the looting of its assets... you should have at least a drawing to prevent newcomers to give money to the con artists that run this website !!!
Hey Mela,
Your cartoons are awesome... I just read the "Couchsurfing Class" and its pretty funny and shows most of the real things that happens travelling around the world...
Good job!, this kind of work is that we should all do to make a better society... I think that Couchsurfing is proud of your job!!!...
I don't like, sorry
Mela...
Ahahahahahahaha... some of your descriptions were truly happened to me!!!! Hahahahaha... This is soooo funny, like you know it all...
Great job, my dear... I will put your blog on my bookmarks... This is sooo fresh...

HAHAHA THIS IS HILARIOUS! THANKS FOR MAKING THIS PAGE, I LOVE CS AND AM USING IT HERE IN SOUTH AMERICA!
thanks for the laughs, i think you have the creating of the site wrong. it actually evolved fro a previously known website called hospitalitynet
You should have the comments only show once the article has been read, otherwise the scroll bar makes it seem like I have a whole lot more article left, which is a deterrent for finishing.
So funny! I love this. Thanks for sharing it
I did it, I finally read all your cartoons story about how CSurfing works accordin to your vision...
nice job..and funny, I'm soorry sometimes bad expériences are not good at the moment but are funny when you tell them to readers, listenners..or for those who have already lived these kind of things...
j'espère que tu vas revenir avec pleins de souvenirs du Tadjikistan.
A+ Mélanie...
